The purchase of commercial real estate is not exactly what I would call a small purchase. I decided now was the time to get into some commercial property investment as the market seems to be on an upswing, and I'm glad I did. It's a small spot in North Dallas, near Southlake, and I love it.
Plenty of investors are deciding to invest in commercial real estate in Dallas, TX rather than in any other area of the South for a variety of reasons. The mortgage numbers in DFW are also steady and commerce thrives everywhere in between the two hub cities. HEB is another fast growing region of the country. So I threw my hat in.
I hadn't realized how well the Dallas commercial real estate market was performing until I took a trip to Detroit and saw just how badly hit other parts of the country were. Though my commercial real estate foot print is small, it's a start and our economy here in DFW hasn't been hit quite as hard.
So just how am I going to use my new found retail space? I will probably start a wine bar (which is big in Addison, TX) or some sort of small tapas style restaurant that can handle the space well without coming off as too cramped. It's a big deal and I don't want to be the guy sitting around in 10 years kicking myself for not getting in when the Dallas real estate market was slow!
